I came across a 21-day organizing challenge and thought it would be a fun and easy way to do some fall reorganizing around the house. As anyone who knows me can attest, I love organizing. I love boxes and bins and little divided containers. I thoroughly enjoy weeding out, sorting, color coding and labeling. I adore calendars, lists and Excel spreadsheets.
It's a sickness, really.
But even those of us with an unhealthy love of the Container Store find that there are areas of our home that need fixing. Those dark corners of the kitchen that you stuff random tools that don't belong or that filing bin of paperwork and important documents that is now three inches deep because there is nothing that you hate more than sifting through now-probably-outdated papers and putting them in the appropriately labeled folder. And of course there are always those areas where you might be organized, but the flow of how things are set up just isn't practical or easy to use.
So, the opportunity to reorganize the house through a very tidy and easily managed list greatly appealed to me. I enlisted my mom friends to join in with me and we were all abuzz over lunch and shopping trips last week over our new endeavor. I am a firm believer that organization makes life easier and saves you OODLES of time and money, so I was happy to have other mamas join in as we work together and share ideas for having efficient and well-managed homes.
Since this is obviously something I'm very passionate about, I thought I'd share the challenge with you!

Via a bowl full of lemons' 21 Day Challenge
Sorry I didn't respond to your email about this earlier. I'd LOVE to get more organized. More than anything. But looking at that list and thinking about tackling each of those areas and having them done in JUST ONE DAY each? Made me palpitate. I think I'll start with the junk drawer and ease into the rest. You could give me serious lessons, tho'. I looked in your "junk drawer" for a pen and paper while we were there yesterday, and I loved your drawer organizer. I think I'll start with that. That and getting rid of a ton of crap in there that I have no business hanging onto.
What exactly are you going to organize? Aren't you already uber organized? I suppose it's all relative, but if my drawers and whatnot looked like yours, I'd be a happy, happy homemaker. :)
