My best friend Jennifer came out for a visit this October. It was so amazing to spend the weekend with her live and in person, to chat about music, books, shows, school, work, and life, to savor reminiscing, share a little gossip, and, of course, spend time together with the new addition to our pack.
We spent most of Friday in Seattle, picked up groceries at the farmers market and had lunch in Olympia on Saturday, and the rest of the weekend was spent hanging out around the house in comfy clothes just being us.

Out for a walk with the baby and the beasts - visiting the baby cows at the farm

I just love them so much!

I've always been aware how lucky I am to have a friend as special as Jennifer. She is beautiful, intelligent, funny, generous and loyal. I have been fortunate to call her my closest friend since we were in sixth grade. Now, seeing her love for Lucas, my appreciation of who she is as a person and as my friend is magnified so much more. To know that Lucas was born into such a loving circle of beautiful people makes me grateful beyond measure.

Jenn looks exactly how I remember her from junior high...somehow I find that to be extremely unfair :)
